Developer/Programmer (.NET/GIS)
AMEC Earth and Environmental seeks a qualified individual with a proven background in Application Development using .NET to join a growing Application and Database Development team in Nashville, Tennessee. The group specializes in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) solutions for desktop and the web, database management solutions and the development of floodplain mapping tools in support of the FEMA Flood Map Modernization effort. The application development team averages 10 years of experience per developer allowing the ability to work with and consult senior staff.
This is an opportunity to join a diverse team of application developers working on multiple technologies in a fast paced consulting environment as well as a growing office of over 120 employees with a wide diversity of services and clients. Examples of project work will be ArcGIS Desktop and Server solutions as well as web based applications driven by a database back-end.
Skills
2 or more years .NET Programming (C# or VB) work experience
Experience reading, debugging and modifying both C# and VB.NET code
Experience with ADO.NET and/or Database Managements Systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, mySQL)
ASP.NET Development experience
Object Oriented Programming experience
GIS (Geographic Information Systems) experience and experience developing GIS Desktop and/or GIS Web Applications using .NET and/or Java is highly beneficial
Experience with SQL Queries and Procedures is highly beneficial
Graphic Design experience with Photoshop or 3D modeling software packages is beneficial
C++ and/or Java development experience is beneficial
Experience with AJAX and JSON is beneficial
Qualifications
Ability to solve complex application development problems in a fast paced environment
Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are a must
Successful candidates will have an energetic and positive attitude toward working with multiple clients on a wide-range of environmental projects
