| | | | Job Description | ITS Corporation, a QinetiQ North America, company provides superior information technology/engineering and environmental services and solutions to the Federal, Intelligence and Homeland Security agencies.
We currently have a GPS Technician position available working on the U.S. Marine Corps base in Twentynine Palms, CA.
This position has the primary responsibility for the creation, collection, manipulation, maintenance, quality control and documentation of geo-spatial data. This position is also responsible for the development and maintenance of the telecommunication geodatabase.
Duties of this position are operating GPS units to collect field attribute data for telecommunication systems including manhole survey work. Transferring data from GPS units. Generate CAD/GIS maps from system maps and the geodatabase as well as creating standard and custom maps using ArcGIS. Create and edit various GIS data layers for use by telecommunication divisions.
Required skills for this position are:
• 2 years related experience.
• Previous experience working with GPS & field data collection processes.
• Prior military and/or telecommunication experience would be a plus.
• Experience using ArcGIS to create/manage data and produce standard/custom maps.
• Able to stand for long periods of time, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, recurring bending and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to enter/maneuver in a maintenance hole environment.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position with the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
