| | | | Job Description | The job entailed is to maintain and improve an existing GPS tracking application. In particular, the job entails the following:
- To maintain an existing application that is used for GPS tracking
- To fix bug and glitches of the existing system
- To design and implement new modules to the existing application
- To improve functionality and user-friendliness of the existing application
- To conduct periodic updates, backups and general maintenance
- To create a mechanism for redundancy for optimum uptime
- To create a disaster recovery procedure
| | | | | Job Requirements | Skill set required:
- Advanced ability with PHP coding with at least 3 years professional coding experience
- Advanced ability to maintain and use MySQL database with at least 3 years professional experience
- Experience with building stable web-based software applications
- Ability to integrate with various open source software and applications
- Ability to build and maintain web-based GIS packages, particularly Map Server, Ka-Maps and Open Layers
Additional Skill set preferred:
- Ability to build and maintain Linux server systems, including Apache web-server, mail server and MySQL
- Ability to maintain Windows 2003 server, MSSQL database including creating simple stored procedures
