| | | | Job Description | Penobscot Bay Media is hiring for a mid-level Software Engineer. Our software team is driven by innovation, creativity of design and engineering, the solving of significant technical challenges, and the blending of different disciplines. Ideal candidates will approach application development creatively and both thrive in a team environment as well as to work with little direction. An ongoing desire to acquire new skills is essential. They will understand the strengths and weaknesses of the technologies they have worked with so that they will know the risks inherent at the outset and can plan accordingly. | | | | | Job Requirements | Required: 3-5 years combined experience and education in
• Web application basics such as server side development using ASP.NET or Java, HTML, XML, CSS and Javascript
• GIS and ESRI ArcGIS products
• Database development using an RDBMS like MySQL, MS SQL Server or Oracle
Preferred:
• Experience creating web services (SOAP/WSDL) using .NET or Java
• Experience with .NET and COM interoperability
• Experience developing web services with ESRI server products
• Experience testing and debugging web services
