Job Description
Scope of Position:
Manage & Support the development of commercial wind energy generation facilities.

Working Condition: 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project, MS Access, etc.), telephones and general office equipment. 10% of the time is spent in the field, working to collect GPS points.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will be to analyze and manage GIS data to produce solutions for renewable energy development activities, create company standards for cartographic products, work with the IT department to create a solution for centralized GIS data, establish version control, share your GIS expertise with other Resource Assessment team members, assist regional GIS personnel with GIS technical support, and occasionally perform field work.

After succeeding in the primary responsibilities, there will be the opportunity for growth and advancement. There will be the opportunity to learn all aspects of resource assessment from initial met tower installation and data collection all the way through wind farm layout design and energy analysis. The Resource Assessment Group has a goal of cross training so that team members can continue to grow, expand their knowledge and keep a fresh exciting work experience available to all who want to succeed.
 
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Experience in using GIS software, applying spatial analysis tools, analyzing data from various sources.
• Knowledge of ESRI, ArcGIS, AutoCad software (ArcIMS, ArcObjects, 3-D analyst extensions, etc.)
• Knowledge of wind turbine siting software desirable but not necessary
• Willing and able to learn new technical skills involving industry-specific software and or/techniques.
• Familiarity with environmental issues, assessments, and permitting desirable but not necessary
• Project management, multi-tasking, and flexible regarding tasks/assignments
• Detail oriented, creative, intuitive, accurate, hard working, professional
• Able to work with diverse group of individuals (county assessor/regional GIS agents, surveyors, land use agents, project developers)
• Strong and clear interpersonal and written communication skills
• Manage and create a team atmostphere.
• Always willing and wanting to “take the extra step” to achieve quality work and bring value to the team and company
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite products. Database applications.

• 3+ years in GIS experience and supervision of GIS technicians
