| | | | Job Description | POSITION:
GIS Technician position (Research Associate I Special) available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands, to be assigned in Centennial, Colorado, to provide GIS database management, spatial analysis, and cartographic support to the Colorado Army National Guard (COARNG) Environmental Branch. Position is contingent on the availability of funds. Term position 11 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform duties associated with the Colorado Army National Guard’s Geographic Information System (GIS). The duties include, but are not limited to, spatial data development and management, spatial analysis, and cartography. Spatial data development duties include creating and updating spatial data and field data collection using GPS. The GIS technician will utilize the COARNG GIS to provide information and maps for reports and presentations in support of the COARNG Environmental Branch mission.

U.S. Citizenship is required. B.S./B.A. degree in Geography or Environmental Sciences w/GIS emphasis or closely related field. CSU conducts a background check on final candidate.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
Demonstrated knowledge of ArcGIS software. Demonstrated skills in GIS database development. Demonstrated experience working with GIS applications in environmental management, and digital cartography. Excellent written and oral communication skills. | | |
