Responsibilities:
Bentley Systems seeks a talented individual to serve as their Software Technician - GeoSpatial/GIS Solutions, responsible for Development related to the implementation of Bentley's Geospatial/GIS solutions within utilities. Located in Austin, Texas, the successful candidate will be challenged with:
Extending Bentley software capabilities by creating or modifying code using both standard development languages such as C++, COM, VBA, C# and/or proprietary GIS macro languages
Extending GIS and other graphical system capabilities using both standard development languages such as C++, COM, VBA, C# and/or proprietary GIS macro languages
Providing internal and external technical assistance as needed
Conducting research and analysis to provide client with recommendations on technology integration and custom application developments
Contributing to definition and scoping of solutions (technical & man-hours)
Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationship with clients and colleagues as trusted subject matter expert
Executing tasks on software projects to include implementation, unit testing, bug fixes and delivery of targeted Bentley GeoSpatial solutions
Adhering to Bentley standards and guidelines for project performance
Periodically delivering client support for software implementations during delivery and testing phases

Experience with Visual Studio
Demonstrated excellence in analytical and problem solving skills along with capacity of handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to quickly learn new technology coupled with personal interest in staying up-to-date in new technologies
Ability to work independently without constant direct supervision
Willingness to travel (up to 2 weeks/month) with ability to work remotely
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills coupled with capacity to work and cooperate with others in diverse teams/departments.
Desired:
Experience with graphical systems (Smallworld, ESRI, Microstation, AutoCAD)
Demonstrated experience coding using C++/COM or Geospatial environments
Experience in the use of Bentley Geospatial products
Working knowledge of Oracle 10g and/or GIS technologies including Microstation, Smallworld GIS, ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD
Experience working for Electric, Gas, or Water Utility
Demonstrated experience configuring/customizing GIS solutions
Austin, TX location strongly preferred
BA or BS in Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field desired
