Summary: Oversee the Marine Corps utilities modeling initiative/program – liaison with ESRI, Navy and other Industry leaders on utilities modeling development.
Management Scope: This position has no direct reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate working group sessions to determine requirements and information sources to support the development of Marine Corps utility models.
2. Coordinate utilities-related projects throughout West Coast Marine Corps Installations.
3. Provide project management (as-needed) of data migration and implementation of utility models within the corresponding Marine Corps business areas.
4. Serve as the GIS domain expert for utilities to include various utility models and the use of ArcSchematics.
5. Provide GIS expertise for utilities consultation, policy and procedure recommendations and training.
6. Domestic travel as required.
7. Other duties as required.
| | | | | Job Requirements | Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Two years experience in engineering or GIS utilities modeling
• Multilateral project management experience highly desired
• Strong understanding of utility systems business processes, components, and terminology
• Experience working with a utilities engineers and maintenance staff
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to facilitate working group meetings, perform needs assessments, provide formal recomendations and guide policies and procedures
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment to balance a variety duties
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
