Description:
Through collaboration with team members, the Senior Geospatial Developer will architect solutions and lead and support the design, development, and implementation of geospatial enterprise applications. Geospatial Developer will participate in the full life cycle of software development: from requirements and data analysis through technology selection and application design, development, testing, documentation, and deployment of system components, interfaces, and end-to-end architectures. Receives general direction and is competent to perform most aspects of the job independently while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Also provides technical support to other geospatial and information systems professionals and users.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Works in a team environment to design, create, update, and document geospatial software applications.
*Engineers software components based on functional specifications and requirements for all tiers of enterprise applications.
*Applies leading-edge technologies to conceptualize, design, and develop applications and the data systems that support them.
*Provides technical leadership and expertise for product deliverables.
*Performs proof-of-concept projects for software applications.
*Performs maintenance on software applications.
*Develops spatial and non-spatial databases.
*Provides technical support to other geospatial professionals.
*Manages application development projects and serves on application development teams.
*Designs architecture and database schema's to support desktop and enterprise geospatial software applications.
*Provides maintenance and tuning of geospatial software applications.
*Implements best practices for life cycle code management.
Salary Range: $75,357 to $83,730 annually.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
*Works in a team environment to design, create, update, and document geospatial software applications.
*Engineers software components based on functional specifications and requirements for all tiers of enterprise applications.
*Applies leading-edge technologies to conceptualize, design, and develop applications and the data systems that support them.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
*BS/BA in Computer Science, Geography or related field (advanced degree preferred).
*5+ years of application programming experience with geospatial software preferred.
*Other combinations of experience and education may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
*Extensive professional application development experience.
*Extensive knowledge and experience with GIS and database software.
*Extensive knowledge of GIS concepts and software capabilities.
*Knowledge of geospatial software installation and configuration requirements.
*Professional application development experience using GIS software and various information systems and tools including:
Required: ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop J2EE/.NET, C#, JavaScript, JSP/ASP, JDBC/ODBC, XML, SQL
Preferred: Oracle Spatial, Oracle / SQL Server
Other desired skills:VB 6, HTML
*Experience developing geospatial desktop applications and web applications compatible with Internet Explorer and Fire Fox (Mozilla).
*Experience with software version control and development in a team environment.
