Summary: Performs GPS data collection of utility features for various DoD clients in support of utilities modeling within a geospatial information system (GIS). Expected utility systems include natural gas, potable water, waste water, storm water, electrical, and telecommunications. Temporary assignment locations will be primarily within the southern California region but may include locations within the Western US.

Management Scope: This position has no direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or related discipline
• Certificate in GPS or Surveying
• Direct experience collecting a variety of utility system field data
• Direct experience with geospatial data utilities modeling preferred
• Knowledgeable of at least one major utilities modeling data standard preferred (Miner & Miner, ESRI, NAVY CIRCUITS, etc.)
• Two years ESRI software experience
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform GPS data collection.
2. Provide GPS data collection process and procedure recommendations.
3. Provide GIS analysis and technical support for utilities modeling.
4. Provide GPS technical support to business clients/end users as needed.
5. Conduct data compilation, review and analysis.
6. Domestic travel as required.
7. Other duties as assigned.
