Summary: Supports projects involving the administration and development of GIS applications for a DoD client providing enterprise GIS hosting services.
Management Scope: This position has no direct reports.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Five years direct GIS experience administrating and developing with ESRI software (ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Desktop)
Ability to install, administer and tune GIS server software, to include creating and publishing map services
Ability to create GIS applications and perform systems integration with enterprise applications
Experience in Microsoft .NET development platforms
Preferred experience with GeoMicro AltaMap Server
Preferred experience with Oracle Portal technologies
Familiarity with Windows Server OS, CITRIX, and Web application deployment methodologies
Solid understanding of relational database management systems
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide GIS software administration, tuning and technical support for applications residing on an enterprise hosting environment.
2. Develop automated GIS applications.
3. Deploy and install GIS application software deliverables and patches.
4. Support GIS application access and account requests.
5. Design and write application installation / administration utilities and scripts.
6. Respond to ad-hoc requests for GIS development support.
7. Prepare and maintain user documentation related to GIS applications on an enterprise hosting environment.
8. Responsible for testing of GIS web applications and supporting software.
9. Available for domestic travel as required.
10. Other duties as assigned.
