AMEC Earth and Environmental seeks a qualified individual with a proven background in management in the technology industry to lead a growing Application and Database Development team in Nashville, Tennessee. The Team Manager will oversee a diverse staff of software developers and database administrators providing information management services to a variety of clients and industries. The group specializes in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) solutions for desktop and the web, database management solutions and the development of floodplain generation tools in support of the FEMA Flood Map Modernization effort. This position will include providing technical guidance to junior staff, overseeing projects and tasks through the creation and execution of project plans, and quality assurance for work developed by staff.
This is an opportunity to lead a diverse team of application developers working on multiple technologies in a fast paced consulting environment as well as to join an energetic management team for a growing office of over 120 employees with a wide diversity of services and clients. The Information Management discipline has been identified as a high growth area for AMEC Earth and Environmental, Inc. and this position will play a key role in the growth of Information Management services in the southeast.
Skills
Experience managing technical staff and projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle including Analysis, Design, Coding and Testing
Requirements Documentation and Systems Design experience is required
5 or more years of computer programming work experience
1 or more years .NET Programming (C# or VB) experience
Experience reading, debugging and modifying both C# and VB.NET code
ASP.NET Development experience
Experience with ADO.NET and/or Database Managements Systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, mySQL)
GIS (Geographic Information Systems) experience and experience developing GIS Desktop and/or GIS Web Applications using .NET and/or Java is highly beneficial
Experience with SQL Queries and Procedures is highly beneficial
Experience with AJAX and JSON is highly beneficial
C++ and/or Java development is beneficial
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems or equivalent preferred
Ability to solve complex application development problems in a fast paced environment
Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are a must
Successful candidates will have an energetic and positive attitude toward working with multiple clients on a wide-range of environmental projects
Accountabilities
Responsible for staff and project success
Resource Management of a software development team
Quality Assurance of work developed by staff
Manage and execute projects including budgets and schedules from inception to closure
Provide technical guidance to a project team
Provide technical writing to support proposal efforts and project documentation
Prepare project proposals and conduct client presentations
